In spring 2018, South Wales Sports Grounds constructed a new sand dressed synthetic surface specifically for the all-girls school’s hockey team at Howells School at Llandaff, Cardiff.
The project involved the removal of the exiting grass surface, installation of a new stone raft, fencing, hydraulic “raise and lower” floodlights and ancillary footpath works. The works took place alongside the construction of a 2 bank MUGA and grass pitch.
The surface was handed over in July 2018 and enabled the school and community to utilise the hockey, small sided football and tennis markings.
The project worked in tandem with Notts Sports and was worked and managed throughout by SWSG’s in house teams.
