Drainage

Drainage

South Wales Sports Grounds has over 50 years experience in laying sports field drainage. The combination of up to date plant and equipment operated by our own skilled workforce means we can install drainage systems on existing pitches precisely making the optimum use of falls available.

All of our plant is fitted with Low Ground Pressure tyres or wide tracks which help to avoid unnecessary damage to the surface when installing drainage runs. In addition to primary systems we own and operate sandslitting and banding equipment, allowing us to install secondary drainage systems.

Investments in digital surveying equipment means we can survey sites, download them and produce detailed level plans allowing efficient drainage systems to be designed in-house.

As well the latest in surveying equipment continued investment in machine control technology such as GPS Autosteer and laser guided trenchers allow us to install drainage systems quickly and accurately.

Sustainable Drainage

With sustainability at the forefront of public perception ecologically conscious construction has become a main aim of the construction industry. South Wales Sports Grounds have already been part of project whereby sustainable drainage strategies have been designed, implemented and constructed as part of our combined effort to provide a functional and maintainable SUD’s infrastructure effective for the design life of a given facility. These implementations aim to reduce the burden of drainage on the environment and the public adopted systems, mimic the natural drainage process and protect or enhance water quality.

Sustainable drainage regulations come into force on any project greater than 100m2 in Wales and South Wales Sports Grounds are at the forefront of their implementation and information to the wider sporting community.
